POCKET MAP
This pocket map serves as a tour guide to Indy’s public art and local hot spots like the canal, the circle, and Mass Ave. The map
consists of eight murals found around downtown Indianapolis. The design of the
map was inspired by my time spent using
the letterpress.
8.5” x 11” open, 2.7”x5.7" folded
Created using Illustrator.
After selecting the topic and locations for the pocket map, the next steps were to figure out a fold to fit into a pocket.
After figuring out the folds, the content layout and type came next. The colors are a big part of understanding the map. Each color correlates with the mural information and maps icons. There were rounds and rounds of iterations for this stage.
During every stage of the design process I was given feedback from my peers. It was an important step to ensure usability and functionality throughout the user experience.
